When want to take your InDesign CS2 document back to version CS1, you'll need the InDesign Interchange Format. When you have a document acting a bit strangely, you'll need the InDesign Interchange Format. It's a lot like "take two aspirin and call me in the morning" in that it fixes so many things that can go odd in InDesign.
